EMA (Exponential Moving Average)

A moving average that weights recent days more heavily.

An EMA works like a simple moving average but gives the latest prices more influence, so it turns sooner when the trend changes.

Traders commonly watch the 20-day (short-term mood), 50-day (medium trend) and 200-day (long-term trend). When a shorter EMA sits above a longer one, the recent trend is stronger than the older one.

Price ₹2,182 with EMA(20) ₹2,256, EMA(50) ₹2,248 and EMA(200) ₹1,478: the long-term trend is clearly up, but the price has slipped below its 20-day line — a short-term cooling inside a longer uptrend.
