Leader Status
A separate label based on whether the stock is making new highs.
Leader status classifies a share by its new-high behaviour over 3, 6 and 12 months — not by its momentum score.
*Confirmed leader* means new highs across all three windows. *Emerging* means a recent high but not a yearly one. *Fading* means it made highs earlier but not lately. *Laggard* means none, with weak performance overall.
It legitimately disagrees with the Momentum Score, and that is not an error. A stock can score 97/99 and still read Neutral simply because it is a few percent below its highs — most high-scoring stocks are.
Read the two together, never one instead of the other: the score measures strength, the status measures whether the share is at new highs.
