Stochastic Oscillator (%K, %D)
Where today's close sits within the recent high-to-low range.
Stochastic asks a narrow question: within the last 14 days' trading range, did today close near the top or the bottom? 100 means at the very high of the range, 0 at the very low.
%K is that raw reading; %D is a 3-day average of it, used to smooth the noise. Above 80 is considered overbought, below 20 oversold.
%K of 85 means today closed near the top of the last 14 days' range — buyers finished the day in control.
